APPLICATION PROCEDURES: Prospective members must attend at least one meeting and must have a current member to sponsor them.
Club is composed of business and professional women and men, and provides community service with an emphasis on family, education, literacy, and the environment. Founded AWARE in 1977, and in 2001, AWARE merged with the Adult Learning Center and became the Basic Literacy Program of the Adult Learning Center. This year's service projects include READ ON, a program designed to teach people to read to babies and young children and to help parents complete their high school education; helping children at Park Hills Elementary School improve their academic performance; college scholarships for traditional and nontraditional recipients; proving books for children at the Second Presbyterian Soup Kitchen on Make a Difference Day; Supporting Bethlehem Center; and participating in Adopt-A-Highway.
