Thomas Price built this house on his 2,000 acre plantation around 1795. Besides farming with his 28 slaves, he also ran the post office, a general store, and he had a license to operate a "house of entertainment," that is, to feed and house travelers who came by on the stage coach. A slave cabin was moved from Newberry Co. to this property and became part of the interpretive program in 2007.
