Terrier Tales Reading Program:Read to Succeed
The Spartanburg County Public Libraries and Wofford Sports Marketing have teamed up to promote reading for the second year in a row. The “Terrier Tales” Reading Program returns with a new look and even more incentive for children in kindergarten through the 8th grade to “read to succeed.”
As children read for enjoyment during the school year, they receive stamps for each book they complete at any of the ten public libraries around Spartanburg County. Once the child has read five books and received five stamps the bookmark becomes a free ticket to any of the first five home football games or men’s or women’s basketball home games (not valid for homecoming). Parents may also get a discount ticket for coming to the game with their child who has completed the program.
Wofford Sports Marketing will then issue the child a new bookmark once we receive it at the gate. Also, this year Wofford Sports Marketing will track what schools show the most participation. The winning school will receive a special visit from Boss the Terrier and Wofford student-athletes in February 2008.
