  • 9/26/08 - The Big Read: Join the Hunt, a community wide reading program, kicks off Saturday Oct. 4 and runs through Nov. 1.  Pick up a free copy of the book The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett at any Library location.  Special programming will include book discussions, film programs, lectures, theatrical readings, live falconry programs and much, much more.

  • 9/26/08 - Classes for homeschoolers will be held at the Westside Library on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. Each weekly program will feature a read aloud of a non-fiction book, a handout for enrichment, and an optional activity for varying grade levels. The program is primarily for grades 3-8. Interested participants should come by the Westside Library to sign up and receive a brochure about monthly topics.

  • 9/26/08 - The Woodruff Library is also offering classes for homeschoolers. Classes will meet the third Wednesday of each month with K-2nd grades meeting from 12-12:30, and Grades 3-5 meeting from 12:30-1. Students will "Read Across America" exploring 7 areas of the U.S. through popular children's literature.

  • 9/8/08 - Digital Collections: The Herald-Journal Willis Collection is now available digitally through the Libraries' website. This collection of over 400 historical photographs was donated by the Herald-Journal in 1999. Most of the photographs were taken by Alfred Tennyson Willis, a Spartanburg commercial photographer, and date from the early 1900s to the 1940s. Learn more about Digital Collections

  • 1/23/08 - The Boiling Springs Library has moved to a temporary facility at 5079 Hwy 9 in KVC Plaza while the permanent building undergoes renovation.
